Most family management apps are one-trick tools: a chore app, or a calendar app, or a messaging app. TaskTroll is designed as a Family Operating System — a single platform that manages the full operational reality of running a household. The Command Center Dashboard is the expression of that vision: a configurable home screen that surfaces everything relevant to your household’s current state in a single, glanceable view. Chores, calendar, meal plan, accountability score, co-parent messages, and real-time family member status — all visible without opening a submenu.

The dashboard is widget-based. Each household gets a default widget layout that surfaces the most universally critical information, and every parent can rearrange, add, or remove widgets to match their specific household configuration. A co-parenting household might pin the Co-Parent Status and Message Log widgets prominently. An entrepreneur might add the Work Mode task widget alongside the family chore widget. A single parent with young kids might prioritize the Meal Planner and Daily Routine widgets. The dashboard adapts to how you actually run your household rather than forcing you into a generic view.

The Command Center also serves as the household’s real-time status display. If it’s connected to a tablet or mounted screen in your kitchen or hallway, every household member can see the day’s priorities at a glance — no app required. The public display mode shows an ambient version of the dashboard without personal financial data, optimized for a shared screen in a common area. This is the digital equivalent of the family whiteboard, but it updates in real time and nobody has to maintain it manually.

Use-case story: After eight months of using individual TaskTroll features in isolation, the Morales family upgraded their setup by mounting an old iPad in their kitchen hallway and running the Command Center in public display mode. How to use it

• Your Command Center Dashboard is the parent home screen — access widget customization by tapping Edit in the top right
• Drag widgets to reorder, tap the + to add new widgets from the library, and tap the minus icon to remove any widget
• Enable Public Display Mode from Settings > Dashboard > Display Mode to get a clean version for a shared kitchen or hallway screen
• Share your widget layout with your co-parent using the “Sync Dashboard Layout” option so both households have the same view structure
