This feature shares its underlying OS-level override mechanism with the Emergency Alarm — the same reason the alarm can override silent mode is the reason Find My Phone can too. When you tap Ring on a device in your household list, it sounds immediately at maximum volume regardless of the phone’s current volume setting, Do Not Disturb configuration, or focus mode status. It rings for 30 seconds and stops — long enough to locate it, short enough not to be disruptive once found. You can also trigger a location ping alongside the ring to see the device on a map if it’s genuinely been misplaced outside the house.

For ADHD families, the feature is a quiet daily miracle. Kids with ADHD misplace belongings at dramatically higher rates than neurotypical peers. • From your dashboard, tap the phone icon or navigate to Family > Devices
• Select the device you’re looking for and tap Ring — the device sounds immediately for 30 seconds
• Optionally tap the location icon beside any device to see its last known GPS position on a map
