TaskTroll’s Alexa skill is live in the Amazon Skill Store — approved and fully operational. That matters because most family app Alexa integrations are half-built side projects that break within a month. TaskTroll’s skill is maintained and versioned alongside the core app, meaning the voice commands that work today will keep working when you need them at 6 PM with your hands covered in raw chicken. The skill connects your Alexa devices to your TaskTroll account and gives every household member voice access to the family’s task system without touching a phone.

The most-used command in testing was “Alexa, ask TaskTroll what chores are left today” — parents ask it while cooking, kids ask it from their rooms, and the answer comes back in plain English with each person’s remaining tasks. You can also add tasks by voice, mark tasks complete, trigger the dinner notification to the whole household, and check the weekly chore completion rate for any family member. For ADHD families, the ambient voice check-in is a game-changer: kids who forget to open the app will respond to a parent calling “ask Alexa what you’ve got left” from the kitchen.

The skill supports multiple Echo devices and maps each device to a household member’s profile based on your settings — so the kitchen Echo announces family-wide updates, while the Echo in a teenager’s room only reads that teenager’s tasks by default. Privacy routing is configurable in the TaskTroll app’s Alexa settings panel.

Use-case story: Pete has two Echoes — one in the kitchen, one in the living room. • Try the core commands: “ask TaskTroll what’s due today,” “ask TaskTroll to add [task] for [name],” and “ask TaskTroll to remind everyone about dinner”
• Enable the Daily Briefing option to have your kitchen Echo read the household’s task summary each morning at a set time
